Grand Victoria Foundation Unveils New Vision for a Strong, Livable and Equitable Illinois
Chicago, IL — Entering its 22nd second year of operation and after much reflection from its board of directors, staff, and partners, Grand Victoria Foundation announces a new vision and mission!
Our new mission is to empower communities to ensure Illinois is a great place to live and work with a vision for a strong, livable, equitable Illinois where all residents have an opportunity to thrive.
The new direction reflects our belief in the strength of community to solve problems. It underscores the Foundation’s commitment to support change that leads to more equitable outcomes for those persistently left behind. And, it demonstrates a desire to support work that empowers people in communities across Illinois to achieve their aspirations.
The Foundation’s grantmaking is now organized into five distinct programs: Economy, Education, Elgin, Environment, and Engagement. Each program puts the needs of people and community first; encourages creative problem-solving; and seeks more equitable outcomes. Across all programs it will support leadership development, innovation, collective action, and civic engagement. The strategy also expands grantmaking opportunities in Elgin and creates a new program to support and improve civic engagement and participation.
The Foundation’s website was updated to reflect our new grantmaking programs. For more information please visit www.grandvictoriafdn.org.
